Monthly Pet Food Assistance
We offer 6 consecutive months of temporary pet food assistance to seniors, veterans, low income and financially struggling pet owners.
For assistance please come IN PERSON to open registration and enrollment. We hold enrollment on the second Saturday of every month at The Pet Pantry, 550 Old Spanish Trail, Suite F, Slidell, La 70458 from 10:30am-11am. Please bring your picture ID, proof of residency and proof of family income to enrollment. No pet food will be given out at enrollment.
To get immediate (within 3-4 days) emergency assistance please fill out the emergency assistance form and submit it to us! We offer emergency assistance as a Twice per year.
All applications will be considered for assistance. You must come IN PERSON to apply for pet food assistance. We distribute pet food once per month at a posted location. All approved applicants will be mailed, to the address on the application, a PFP ID Card, instructions and their distribution location. Food buckets will be issues at your first distribution. PFP ID's and bucket(s) are REQUIRED to receive pet food. If you do not bring your PFP ID Card or bucket (s) with you, you will not receive any food. Applicants are only allowed pet food once per month for 6 consecutive months, a supplemental amount of food will be supplied to offset your current pet food supply. All applicants that are approved will be supplied a supplemental amount of pet food for 6 consecutive months. The Pet Food Pantry is only a temporary supplemental program. If a need is still present after the 6 months you may reapply.
As we mainly work off of donations we may not always have food supplies or the type of food requested. In the case that we are running low on supplies the applicants with the greatest hardships will receive food 1st.
***If you don't meet all the qualifications, come to a scheduled enrollment, we will work with everyone in need, within reason.
**Please check with your local library for printing and email services if needed.

Waiver of Liability
Help Search and Rescue Dog Team d/b/a Southeast Louisiana Pet Food Pantry will not knowingly distribute any food that is spoiled or contaminated. However, as our supplies are donated from various sources, it is possible that some food could be found to be unacceptable for feeding to your pets. All food should be carefully inspected for foreign objects, mold, unusual colors, odors or other signs of contamination. If any of these are found, the food should be discarded in such a manner that no other animal, either domesticated or wild, may consume it. I HEREBY ACCEPT FULL RESPONSIBILITY TO INSPECT AND SECURE ANY AND ALL PRODUCTS THAT I RECEIVE MYSELF TO INSURE THAT THERE IS NOT A PROBLEM WITH THE PRODUCT. I AGREE THAT PROCEDURES WERE EXPLAINED TO ME AND THAT CAUTION WITH ANY PRODUCT WAS EXPLAINED.
